When I first clicked the nomination link and landed on Thia’s MySpace page and heard her cover of “Why Can’t,” I felt my heart skip a beat. It’s not often you hear a voice that makes your jaw drop, especially when it’s from someone so young.

12-year-old Thia Megia is from California and was trained at the Derryl Leffler’s Music Academy by Greg Farbizo. Don’t let her age fool you, this young talent has a list of impressive accomplishments: Singing the National Anthem for the 49ers, Stanford Basketball team, and eventually KRON 4. Thia will be appearing on Showtime at the Apollo on February 9, 2008. She has also entered the contest “Total Popstar” so go over there and give her your support.

Besides singing, Thia also composes her own song on the piano. The beauty of her voice also matches the beauty of her spirit where she tells her family and friends: “So hold on to your dreams real tight,… no matter what, never sell yourself short and have that faith,… self respect and dignity. Be strong, doesn’t matter who you are … a kinder in school, a sprouting bud star, or even a full blown superstar…”

Your dreams will fulfill, my favorite one, my “little pop Muzio” with the haunting voice and heartbreaking talent in renditions. You can trust me : I do work on it. As soon as Sony BMG and Universal Mother House get a copy of your CD’s, it’ll wake them up ! Should I send a million of copies of them, you’ll get this contract you deserve. It’s not a secret for you : you are the greatest artist to me, along with my lyric family. The world has to know you and will ! As for the video, didn’t I comment it already on YT ? You’re like a fish in water in this repertoire and mesmerizing, vocally and with your presence on stage. Did I already tell you I would help you till my last breath ? The last sight I want to have on this earth is you, singing, on stage. Then, I’ll go in peace to the other world.
