Kandi Cole. “Emcee. Writer. Producer. Queen.” Self-deemed “Golden-Era Hip Hop Representative…” Not to be compared to anyone, only in the sense that she is just as much of a female, hip hop powerhouse, (and I’m on the East Coast). She names other female greats, such as Bahamadia and Lady of Rage, as her inspiration. Her sound, in her own words sounds like “Da Brat & Busta Rhymes got together at Auntie (MC)Lyte & Uncle (J.)Dilla’s house for Sunday dinner and cooked up a MONSTER!”
