ReverbNation: Connecting artists with fans and music labels

reverb.pngReverbNation is a music social-networking site that provides fans and artists with several options. The site has typical features found on other networking sites such as video and photo upload. However, unlike other sites, ReverbNation also lets artists post touring schedule with a map, a storefront, and a mailing list for fans.

For labels/managers, the site provides these users with an interactive artist roster, artists profile pages, and widgets that track how fans are spreading the word about their artists. The site provides a Facebook application that lets artists and managers to promote their music on Facebook.  The application, called “MyBand,” allows members to post a schedule, band information, and share music tracks on Facebook. Artists with a personal Facebook profile can sign up for “My Band” for free here.

In May, the site announced that “artists will receive 50% of the revenues generated by the advertising displayed on artist profile pages.” reverbss.png
