The Godfather of Hip-Hop launches Global Grind

globalgrind.jpgMusic celebrities are getting into the vibrant music 2.0 scene i.e. combining music with the web. There has been coverage from 50cents to Dash launching their own social-networking site but if there’s anything hot in music going on, Russell Simmons is there. Known as the “godfather of hip-hop,” Russell Simmons (co-founder of the legendary Def-Jam), along with Navarrow Wright launches Global Grind.

Global Grind is a hip-hop social network where urban users can upload videos, talk about everything hip-hop, and share information with friends. From the site:

Global Grind’s unique combination of community and content allows you to put everything that’s good for you all in one place. You can customize your tabs with feeds from all your favorite sites. You can also select applications that will allow you to listen to music, search the web, and play games all on your customized Global Grind page! Based on what you choose, we’re able to “bubble up” relevant content from other places on the Web.
