AmieStreet lets artists upload their music for promotion and sales. New artists may allow their fans to download a couple of their songs for free. The more your song is promoted, the more money you earn through AmieStreet. In addition, fans who help promote your music, gets money as well. According to AmieStreet, incentives are given to fans “to spread the word about your music to their friends through [their] innovative recommendation system. For example, if a fan recommends your song when it’s free, and the price your song rises to 98 cents, we give that fan 98 cents worth of credit to buy more music.” Artists collect 70% of the money each song makes after it reaches $5.0o and the artists are paid quarterly. Hence, artists get the opportunity to promote their music while earning money.
