We weren’t going to feature this star until a few weeks later, due to the abundant Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston videos fans have been submitting but several Youtubians have been e-mailing us to feature Shianne Phillips. 16-year-old Phillips is from Canada and has been singing for almost 11 years. She began doing public performances at the age of 6! What makes Phillips so special is her songwriting abilities. During the rough stages of figuring out a melody, Phillips uses her cellphone to record her ideas before hitting the studio. This is an ingenious way of using the phone and what a great idea for a budding artist who has a tune in her head. Phillips works on her own notes, melodies, and harmonies as well as lyrics. Her style is very R&B/Pop. One of her most popular songs on Youtube is “Tell Me.” Fans have commented that her style reminds them of Keisha Cole and that she has as very unique voice.
